Here at Gorselands, we’re very proud of our talented kitchen team who make all our residents’ meals from scratch – and even their birthday cakes too!
Leading the team is our Head Chef, Adam, who has been working at Gorselands for two years already. His culinary career began at the age of 16 when he started as a kitchen porter at The Woolpack in Sopley, quickly working his way up the ranks. He studied at catering college in Bournemouth and Poole, taking on placements at Dormy House Hotel in the Cotswolds and at Claridges in London, before returning to run The Woolpack kitchen. After a stint as Head Chef at Tyrrells Ford Country Hotel near Christchurch, Adam decided to leave the pub industry behind and try something new, taking the reins in the Gorselands kitchen instead. Today, he always makes sure his passion for fresh food is his top priority when delivering homemade meals for our residents.
Alongside Adam, you’ll find Paula who first donned her apron in 1979, working for Whitbread Inns and studying for her City & Guilds qualifications in catering. She later successfully ran her own food business for seven years before deciding to join Gorselands – where she has now worked for eight years!
We’re very proud of our catering team and the meals they create, not only feeding our residents but even their friends or families, who, for a small fee, can dine with our Gorselands residents and see for themselves why our meals are something to shout about!
