Gorselands is situated in Burley village, in the middle of the New Forest – a beautiful part of the Hampshire countryside. Our award-winning home has been run for almost two decades, as a small family-led business.
We pride ourselves in offering compassionate person-centered care, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We make sure to maximise the health of each individual in our care and promote their feeling of self-worth, whilst still respecting privacy and maintaining their independence and dignity
We are a member of the Registered Nursing Home Association as well as being a Care Quality Commission registered Care Home with Nursing. We’ve been awarded 5 stars by The Cinnamon Trust – a charity which recognises the value and joy that pets bring to people’s lives – and are also members of NAPA (National Activity Providers Association). Furthermore, Gorselands is proudly accredited with all 5 steps of the Palliative and End of Life Care Certificate.
We take the time to get to know a resident – their history, likes and dislikes – in order to build up a picture of them.
Once we get to know a person, we can work with them to design a care and support package based around their needs so that they remain firmly in charge of everything. We call this person-centred care.
Meals are an important part of our day. All our menus are nutritionally checked, and our food is freshly prepared.
All meals are prepared at Gorselands in a well-equipped kitchen by our skilled chefs. We aim to provide our residents with wholesome food using fresh and often locally sourced ingredients.
We provide our staff with high levels of training and experience but, perhaps more importantly, a set of values that allows them to empathise with residents and tailor care around their needs, concerns, and desires.
All staff correctly accredited and professionally trained in all key areas of care.
We believe that the social and leisure aspects of life are an integral part of care, which should be all about achieving maximum independence and helping people to have some fun!
We continually review our property not only to ensure high standards of maintenance but also to provide a pleasant, homely and stimulating environment.
The aim of Gorselands Nursing Home is to offer high quality holistic nursing and personal care within a comfortable, homely and relaxed environment – so you can rest assured your loved-ones are in safe hands. We are passionate about providing a home from home for those in our care and offering dedicated nursing and care.
We are a small, unique and family-run home set in the middle of the magical New Forest. Gorselands is also pet friendly so we encourage our residents to bring their four-legged friends with them as they move into their new home.
We welcome visits to our nursing home so you can get a feel for the place and meet our staff and residents. Please note that strict COVID-19 rules are in place.
