When looking for a care home or a nursing home, we think Gorselands is the perfect place
to be – especially due to our fantastic (and pretty enviable) countryside location.
Set in the heart of the magical New Forest National Park, we’re surrounded by pockets of
ancient woodland, native ponies roaming freely and quaint villages like Burley (just a minute
or two down the road from us). We ensure our residents get to make the most of being so
close to all this wonderful countryside, with trips out in our minibus to see local lakes, wildlife
and even the sea if we really want to stretch our legs.
Not only is the New Forest great for our outings but being amongst the fresh air is proven to
be good for your health. Research shows that air pollution is associated with an increased
risk of depression and possibly even neurological disorders such as dementia. Luckily for
Gorselands and our residents, being surrounded by trees, our air couldn’t be much fresher!
Plus, studies have shown that people who are more exposed to nature are usually happier
too, and with so much nature on our doorstep, that’s another well-being box we can safely
tick off the list.
As if that wasn’t enough already to convince you that our location is pretty unmatchable, well
we also have our very own lush green garden too, filled with shady trees and a well-tended
lawn. We’ve got hanging baskets that our green-fingered residents like to get involved with,
as well as the occasional pots of tomatoes that they like to plant in the spring. Our outdoor
space also makes a great setting for our fundraising events, barbeques and resident
activities and we try to use it as much as possible when the sun is shining.
So as you can see, there are plenty of reasons why Gorselands is a wonderful setting for
residential care, with nature, fresh air and a spacious garden all rolled into one. Furthermore,
we’re within easy reach of Bournemouth, Christchurch, New Milton and Ringwood, so you
won’t be too far when it comes to visiting time.
